As a Banquet Captain, you will play an important role in the overall success of events. Responsibilities:
  • Set-up, service and clean conference rooms with a high level of detail.
  • Be creative and flexible with meeting special requests.
  • Note changes or additions to banquet event orders and report them to the Event Manager.
  • Oversee inventory, ordering and receiving for the meetings department.
  • Maintain order and cleanliness in storage areas.
  • Thrive in a fast paced environment and handle last-minute client needs with ease.
  • Apply problem solving skills to resolve guest issues or complaints to their satisfaction.
  • Assist with training, coaching, mentoring and scheduling.
  • Support employees in the meetings department to ensure guests are receiving attentive and efficient service.
  • Monitor all food and beverage deliveries for portion control, quality and presentation.
  • Ensure that food handling and safety guidelines are followed.
  • Support the goals of the hotel through teamwork and collaboration with all departments.


Qualifications:

Previous banquet experience is required. All applicants must be able to acquire their Food Handler's Certification. To be successful in this role, you need strong verbal and written communication skills. You must be able to read, write, type and use various forms of technology. This position requires you to stand and move around for an entire shift. You must be able to lift at least 25 pounds. Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
