Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a skilled Machine Shop Foreman for a long-term position located in SE Portland, OR. The person in this position will be overseeing the day shift operations of the machine shop. This position is critical to ensuring the efficient production of industrial equipment for the paper mill industry.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on machining experience and will be responsible for training others, overseeing the day shift crew, and contributing to machining tasks. This role requires a balance of technical skill and leadership ability.

Pay: $30-$35 per hour (based on experience)

Machine Shop Foreman Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the day shift machining crew.
• Operate and work with manual mills, manual lathes, 3-4 axis CNC mills, and CNC lathes.
• Machine mild steel, stainless steel, and tooling steel.
• Manage and support CNC machine set-up and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with programmers to understand and ensure proper execution of Fanuc CNC programs (while not being the primary programmer).
• Provide on-the-job training to junior machinists and help improve their skills.
• Ensure quality control and precision in the production of industrial equipment for the paper mill industry.
• Support production schedules and ensure deadlines are met.
• Work with the team to address any challenges that arise during the shift.

• Proven experience with both manual and CNC machining including 3-4 axis mills and lathes.
• Understanding of Fanuc control CNC programming to work with programmers on to meet customer needs.
• Strong experience setting up CNC machines.
• Leadership skills and the ability to train and guide other machinists.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to do first article inspection and produce parts from blueprints.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen (THC friendly).

• $30-$35/hour based on experience.
• Day Shift Schedule: 5AM-2PM, some overtime as needed
• Occasional Saturday work but generally limited.
