Job Title: Distribution Center Receiving Clerk

Classification: Full-Time, hourly / non-exempt

Pay Range: Starting at $19.50/hr (DOE)

Reports to: Warehouse General Manager

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6am-2:30pm

Location: 5000 N Basin Ave., Portland, OR 97217 (no remote)

General Summary

The DC Receiving Clerk coordinates and processes all inbound inventory, ensuring shipments are received accurately, labeled correctly, and entered into inventory systems in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and oversee an area specifically created for incoming items
  • Identify, count, label, and stage incoming inventory accurately
  • Communicate via email and in person about incoming/outgoing items to stakeholders
  • Confirm counts and clearly label incoming items
  • Update and track incoming items in receiving software and in spreadsheet list formats
  • Physically deliver items to correct storage/disposition locations
  • Pull and deliver samples as requested and adjust inventory accordingly
  • Move products and incoming materials to proper location using a forklift, hand truck, and/or hoist
  • Package material according to established procedures
  • Load/off-load trucks
  • Organize and maintain supplies for the department, re-ordering as needed
  • Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.

Requirements

Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Basic computer and email skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, and perform physical tasks described below.
  • Reliable attendance for a 6:00am start time.
Preferred
  • Forklift experience (or willingness to be certified; training provided).
Competencies
  • Detail-oriented with strong counting/verification accuracy.
  • Clear communicator and team-oriented.
  • Able to prioritize, multitask, and work independently when needed.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Additional Details

Work Environment: Work is performed in the warehouse, where temperatures can fluctuate with extreme weather. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move items up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
