Research & Development Coordinator

Duration: 1 year contract

Location: Hybrid 4 days/week onsite in Portland

Description:Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization Manage and execute Athlete Performance's strategy for collecting, analyzing, and maintaining data. Deliver credible sports insights as part of the cross-functional Athlete Performance team, and provide metrics and methods to ensure efficient research and development.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage programs that deliver sports science insights to deepen understanding of athletes and athlete–product interactions.
• Manage external partnerships with university and industry research groups and evaluate the research landscape.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of the Innovation and Athlete Performance teams.
• Manage and execute Athlete Performance data innovation initiatives for implementation within the Innovation team.
• Provide timely updates to Innovation leadership on project, research, and partnership status.
• Prepare concept and results-based reports and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Curiosity for science and technology with a passion for sports insights.
• Ability to understand complex scientific information and communicate it to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to educate and train colleagues through ongoing knowledge sharing.
• Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Fluent English (required); German is an advantage.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Efficient time management, balancing short-term tasks with long-term goals.
• Analytical, solution-driven, and results oriented.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications

• University degree in data science, sport science, or a relevant field.
• 5 years of relevant work experience (PhD or equivalent experience may be considered).
