As a Workplace Health & Safety Specialist (WHSS), you will transform the company's safety culture by implementing data‑driven safety programs, leading audits and incident investigations, and delivering engaging training that promotes a proactive safety mindset.Core Impact AreasSafety Program Excellence & Implementation – Drive comprehensive safety programs, lead daily safety audits, incident investigations, risk assessments, and deliver training that resonates with associates.Associate Advocacy & Cultural Leadership – Serve as a trusted safety advisor, build strong partnerships across all levels, foster a safety culture, communicate data, and rally associates to adopt new practices.Additional Job ElementsLift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.Stand or walk for up to 12 hours during shifts.Work in environments with variable noise levels, temperatures, weather, and climb/descend stairs where applicable.Maintain care delivery in emergencies, and assist in emergency response at the site.Must be available to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, and/or weekends.First Aid, CPR, and AED certification is required; if not already held, you must obtain certification within 3 weeks of the start date.Basic QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910.At least 1 year of experience in environmental health & safety (EHS) or a bachelor's degree in an EHS‑relevant field, or 6 months of experience in a safety‑related role within Amazon.Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.Experience maintaining confidentiality regarding security and personal workplace issues.Preferred QualificationsExperience in worker's compensation case management.Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in a safety‑related field.Strong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment, and customer‑focus skills.Leadership experience managing a team, analyzing accident data, new processes, and machinery for safety concerns; conduct job hazard and job safety analyses.Experience in emergency response and current First Aid and CPR certificates.Amazon is an equal‑opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of veteran status, disability, or any other legally protected status.Pay: 27.00–33.00 USD hourly (Troutdale, OR).
