Human Resources Director- West Featured

The Human Resources Director is a hands-on role that will support Pinkerton's West region. The Director proactively communicates with Corporate Human Resources and Talent Acquisition, field management and employees as it relates to; benefits, employee relations, and recruitment/hiring activities. This position manages large, time sensitive, and complex projects which require strategic direction/coordination, effective collaboration with multiple stakeholders across the organization, and successful achievement of expected outcomes. 

Essential Functions Include:

  1. Represent Pinkerton’s core values of integrity, vigilance, and excellence.
  2. Advise employees and management on the interpretation of human resources policies, programs, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations;
    • Serve as a trusted HR partner.
  3. Proactively communicate with Pinkerton leadership and field management regarding small to large time sensitive projects;
    • Provide strategic direction/coordination and effective collaboration with multiple stakeholders across the organization.
    • Proactively communicate project statuses, troubleshoot potential roadblocks, seek guidance accordingly, and ensure successful outcomes. 
  4. Oversee the daily activities of the regional Human Resources team;
    • Provide effective training/development regarding Corporate, Human Resources and Talent Acquisition (TA) processes and practices. 
    • Ensure all work assigned to the team (and self) is consistently completed on time, accurately, and with a sense of urgency.
  5. Assist with the timely completion of employee changes (terminations promotions, increases, and transfers), and prepare/send the necessary paperwork;
    • Maintain documentation, as required by applicable laws/regulations.
  6. Manage FMLA, ADA, personal leaves, and workers' compensation claims and communicate timely with employees;
    • Maintain documentation, as required by applicable laws/regulations.
  7. Assist with the annual benefit open enrollment process including employee communication and document processing.
  8. Regularly travel across the region to meet directly with Pinkerton's Dedicated Professionals (PDPs) who are located at various client locations.
  9. Maintain a high level of confidentiality in dealing with all department-related tasks, employee issues, and/or Company information.
  10. Actively engage with Corporate Human Resources;
    • Maintain regular contact regarding issues/concerns and seek input.
    •  Suggest ideas for increased efficiency and employee engagement.
  11. Proactively manage and actively assist with all regional recruitment activities including;
    • Implementation of established Pinkerton global talent acquisition standards and best practices.
    • Prioritization of open requisitions, assigning HR team members, monitoring progress, and communicating with the Global Director- Talent Acquisition regarding recruiting challenges.
    • Applicant Tracking System (ATS) tasks including requisition creation, candidate review, phone screening, and new hire processing/onboarding.
    • Weekly and ad hoc reporting requirements.
  12. Assist with Corporate Human Resources project implementation, as assigned.
  13. All other duties, as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred with at least eight years of broad human resources management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company.
