Needed Personal Caregiver/Companion for athletic 59 year-old man with memory issues.
Seeking part time personal caregiver and companion weekday afternoons, 20 hours a week. Prefer 11-3 or 12-4 daily but have flexibility if we establish a regular schedule.
Caregiver responsibilities include:
Making sure he is taking his medications – set in a time released pill dispenser
Updating his daily/weekly schedule
Grocery shopping – 1x per week
Managing his pantry, snack and food supplies
Laundry 1x per week
Taking him to the park to run the track or other exercise opportunities
Regular check ins with his Hope Guides care team
A companion will spend time with him, watching movies, playing games, singing (he loves to sing,) walks, other engaging activities - neighborhoods, food trucks, music events…
Jeff is a very friendly and social person who thrives with someone to talk with. He has high energy most days, so a regular exercise is helpful. Running the track is his current routine, but he also likes weights if he has access.
Jeff is fully vaccinated and living in a supportive sober living environment. He has early onset dementia that presents itself in inability to remember the small tasks. He has strong memories of earlier times and will reminisce regularly. It requires patience and listening. He will repeat himself as he seeks all the good memories he has.
Jeff is seeking independence as long as he still has lucidity and self-awareness. He is a very pleasant and funny guy to be around. He just needs someone to remind and guide him through the daily routines.
Salary: $20 to $25/hr 16 to 20 hours a week.
Requires driving and would need someone with a car. Milage reimbursement available.
