This position s pay range is $22.16 - $33.87/hr based on applicable experience. Additional $1 differential for hours worked from 7PM-7AM

What You ll Do:

  • Performs various tasks and monitors machine centerlines to keep paper machine running to reduce downtime and scrap
  • Operates a sit-down forklift to transfer finished paper products in pallet or roll form
  • Packages finished products to protect for transit, prints product labels and transfer to warehouse
  • Collaborates with management to meet the production and shipping schedule
  • Run off-line converter machine to fill orders for specific customers
  • Participates in the Joint Health and Safety Committee to facilitate safety improvements
  • Follows all site rules and procedures as they apply to quality, health, safety, and the environment
  • Visually monitors processes within their area of accountability and immediately informs the Lead Operator of any deviations or abnormalities
  • Works in close coordination with the Lead Operator to accomplish the tasks needed to safely and efficiently meet production and maintenance schedules across all processes
  • Communicates and confers with the Lead Operator as well as with Technical, Supervisory, and Support Personnel to resolve process conditions affecting safety, efficiency, and product quality
  • Follow machine centerlines at various sections of the paper machine. New ideas for process improvements will have the audience of the engineering and maintenance team. In some cases, will be rewarded with monetary reward
  • Perform troubleshooting in the event of process deviations
In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Help to meet and exceed production, waste, and quality goals
  • Become Forklift Certified
To be successful, you will need:
  • High School Diploma Required or GED.
  • Forklift experience a plus but must be able to become certified.
  • Capable of Driving a Tractor/Tanker unit or being able to learn.
  • Analytical and mechanical mindset needed to be successful in this role.
  • Previous chemical/ processing experience a plus.
  • Must be ok with rotating shifts. (Days/Nights/Evenings rotating every week)
  • Must be ok with following strict Health and Safety Guidelines and wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
  • Ability to sit, stand walk and climb frequently working in elevated areas.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Programmable Logic Control (PLC) Systems experience a plus
  • Basic math skills required including the use of a calculator.
  • Ability to operate safely in a manufacturing environment; this may include, but is not limited to potentially lifting up to 50 lbs., standing for extended periods of time bending, crouching, stooping, rotating, climbing stairs, or any combination of the aforementioned, etc.

Reporting into the Production Supervisor, this position is an entry-level, full-time position, and Operator is responsible for performing tasks and duties pertaining to the manufacturing and processing impregnated surfaces. This role is required to know and perform all assigned production department functions in compliance with HSE - Health, Safety and Environmental regulations and Arclin s policies and procedures to contribute positively to an efficient and safely run operation.
