**The Opportunity**

**Production Laborer Walker Emulsions Inc., 4401 S.E. Johnson Creek Blvd., Portland, Oregon**

As our new Production Laborer, you will become part of a high-functioning team that manufactures high quality, sustainable emulsions and related chemistries for a variety of industries. We take great pride in offering our customers quality products, on time, every time.

Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for supporting our operational needs relating to shipping, packaging, waste management and industrial liquid product manufacturing and will use your experience working in an industrial setting to safely and collaboratively get the collective job done. As part of the team, youll work to find solutions to avoid costly shutdowns of production. Youll rise to the challenge while being ready to learn and adopt new approaches. If you master your initial duties, an opportunity to learn more about manufacturing industrial liquids as a Process Operator may be offered to you.

This is a full-time, permanent role, with a competitive hourly rate determined by experience, with overtime paid according to required legislation. **Key Responsibilities:**

* Operating equipment such as forklifts and shunt trucks.

* Providing routine inspection of plant machinery and equipment to ensure surrounding areas are clean and safe, thereby supporting preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.

* Handling wastewater treatment tote supply levels to manage production run off needs.

* Loading will call, less-than-load, full, and bulk trucks and completing related customs documentation, where required.

* Offloading trucks containing raw materials, ranging from raw wax and other bulk liquids to totes, drums and pails.

* Packaging and labelling outgoing orders into appropriately sized containers (jugs, pails, drums, totes, etc...)

* Attending training sessions on health and safety and environmental issues to promote a safe work environment and participates in Superior Safety Culture and EARTH 1st.

**Training:**

* Forklift Operation

* First Aid & CPR

* General and Specific Safety Training as required by OSHA

* Materials Handling and Proper Shipping and Receiving methods

* Any training for production of industrial liquids.

**Hours of Work:**

* Expected to be 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., dependent on customer demand and operational needs.

* Current operations: Monday to Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. - swing shift of 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. is under consideration.

**Skills & Experience**

* Self-starter who enjoys hands-on work and being challenged.

* Intuitive, motivated, communicates extremely well and able to organize and prioritize daily tasks.

* Courteous, tactful and diplomatic when dealing with coworkers, suppliers and customers.

* Able to work with limited supervision yet follow directives and fulfill requests.

* Anticipates needs and adaptable to changing circumstances.

* Keenly attentive to detail with a work ethic requiring thoroughness, accuracy and consistency.

* Tech savvy with good computer skills and software familiarity.

**Qualifications:**

* Six months to one year of experience in industrial manufacturing is preferred.

* A one-year college certificate in a general manufacturing or operations program would be an asset.

* Experience operating mobile equipment, using small hand tools and material handling equipment as well as performing maintenance tasks are distinct assets.
