Salary: $21-$27 DOE

A Canby client of our is looking for a Machine Set-up/Operator to join their team.

This is a long-term career opportunity within in a manufacturing company.

Pay: $21-$27/hr. DOE

Schedule: Monday-Thursday 6am-4:30pm

Duties of the Machine Operator

• Operate production machines and adjust machines as necessary, measure product and log data on computers.
• Troubleshoot production machines, this will be trained and develop over time
• Perform equipment/part changeovers once trained
• Responsible for quality control.
• Understand and follow SQC practices
• Interpret control charts and adjust when necessary to produce product within specifications / tolerances
• Reject product when outside of specifications/tolerances
• Follow all standard company procedures and job safety requirements
• Occasionally operate forklift to maintain raw material supply and stock
• Complete daily production logs
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on production machine
• Communicate effectively with operators from other shifts
• Clean and maintain work area
• Turn off and/or lock out equipment when not in use

Experience, Skills and Qualities of Machine Operator

• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required
• Able to use measuring devices; calipers, micrometers, load testing equipment, and comparators
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude required for operating machinery and computers
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Advanced skills helpful in the following areas: CNC programming experience, experience using one or more of the following tools: lathe, milling machine, surface grinder, drill press, and vertical/horizontal cut off saw. The ability to read and interpret blueprints
