Role Purpose Statement

As the Cold Food Supervisor, you will lead our Food Department, overseeing a team of 20+ employees focused on delivering top-quality products to our customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations, ensuring that food production meets strict quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills to effectively coach, mentor, and motivate staff while driving operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a passion for continuous improvement and delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced environment and teamwork as you will work closely with leaders from other departments. Schedule day shift (either 6:30am or 9am start) with weekends and the 2 days off will be during the week.

Main Accountabilities

Duties
·
Supervise team to ensure food is produced and assembled by FDA, USDA, HACCP, and airline specification
· Ensure on-time and accurate food production to meet Kitchen Ready Times
· Conduct daily manpower planning and adjust as necessary to ensure efficient allocation of labor.
· Maintain Knife Log and ensure compliance with Knife Policy
· Develop and implement operational procedures and protocols to enhance efficiency, safety, and quality control.
· Manage scheduling, payroll, and staffing requirements to meet operational needs while controlling labor costs.
· Analyze performance metrics and financial data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
· Resolve customer complaints and inquiries promptly and effectively, demonstrating a commitment to customer satisfaction.
· Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the food department.
· Train, mentor, and motivate staff to uphold high standards of performance, professionalism, and customer service.
· Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed and directed as well as other duties as assigned
· Plan / Implement and control the cost budget in the area of responsibility; initiate and steer corrective actions in case of deviations
· Participate and support company-sponsored initiatives such as GQS, HACCP, Lean Manufacturing, Employee Safety, and CBase
· Ensure compliance with all government regulatory agencies' standards (for example: Food and Drug Administration (FDA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Administration (EPA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), etc.)

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • One to three years of related work experience required
  • Problem solving and leadership skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to develop and lead others to obtain desired results & achieve productivity goals
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), FDA, USDA and EPA regulations
  • Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills required along with the ability to multi-task
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications
