Are you a proactive engineer eager to move beyond the desk and engage directly on the factory floor? We are seeking a Senior Liaison Engineer to join our dynamic team in Portland, Oregon. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with production personnel, transforming innovative designs into tangible products. Your expertise will be instrumental in bridging the gap between design and manufacturing, ensuring seamless integration and execution.


Key Responsibilities


  • Production Support: Analyze and conduct root cause analysis, developing dispositions for production non-conformances to maintain quality standards.
  • Design Assessment: Utilize your knowledge of design principles to evaluate and resolve product and process issues throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Technical Research: Apply engineering principles to investigate technical, operational, and quality challenges, delivering effective engineering solutions.
  • Issue Documentation: Identify, document, and analyze reported problems, communicating deviations that could impact design intent and safety, and manage resolutions.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement product and process enhancements to drive efficiency and quality.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and contribute to design reviews, representing the engineering community from initial build through production and post-production phases.
  • Supplier Compliance: Ensure suppliers and build partners adhere to company standards and quality requirements.
  • Customer Communication: Prepare correspondence to support the continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • On-Site Support: Engage in on-site repair teams, accident investigations, and support teams to address and resolve issues promptly.
  • Structural Analysis: Analyze damage repairs or structural modifications, design interim structural repairs, and conduct static strength analysis to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Testing Development: Develop non-destructive test procedures, tools, and standards to maintain product integrity.


Requirements


  • Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering from an ABET or ABET-equivalent accredited program.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in structures, systems, design, or production engineering, with at least 5 years of prior Material Review Board experience.
  • Technical Proficiency: In-depth understanding of materials (steel, aluminum, titanium), machining processes, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and familiarity with machined part dimensions and tolerances.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficient in conducting root cause analysis and developing effective dispositions for production non-conformances.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with a talent for collaborating across departments and with external partners.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to work various shifts, including potential off-shift, weekend, and overtime assignments as required.


Citizenship Requirement:

Must have US citizenship or Green Card holder.
