About the Role
The Company is seeking a Director of Finance and Operations with a strong background in nonprofit accounting to oversee all essential accounting functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing and coordinating with the Executive Director on financial matters, ensuring compliance, and monitoring and analyzing monthly operating results. Experience in risk management, particularly in identifying fraud and ensuring compliance, is a key requirement. The role also involves direct oversight of all accounts payable and receivable functions, financial audits, and the development of various financial reports for both the Executive Director and the Board of Directors.
Applicants for the Director of Finance and Operations position at the company should have a minimum of 3 years' of experience in nonprofit accounting, with a preference for those who have worked at a nonprofit organization. A deep knowledge of IRS Form 990 and GAAP principles is highly valued, and a CPA certification is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of accounting functions, be able to provide recommendations for procedural improvements, and be adept at preparing and complying with financial reports for various funding sources. The role is temporary, with a duration of approximately 6 months, and is fully remote with flexible work hours.
