Maintenance Worker

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and machinery within the organization. This role involves conducting routine inspections, performing preventive maintenance, and executing repairs communicated by 'work orders' to minimize downtime and maintain a safe work environment. The Maintenance Worker will collaborate with other team members to address maintenance needs promptly and effectively while adhering to safety protocols and regulatory standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducts preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery and equipment
  • Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs
  • Properly maintains tools and equipment required to make repairs
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and plumbing issues as they arise
  • Assist in the installation of new equipment and systems as required
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory of supplies
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize interruptions to operations
  • Collaborate with team members and management to identify areas for improvement in maintenance processes
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and organizational policies

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English with demonstrated ability to follow written and oral instructions, and work well with others
  • Self-starter that can work with little supervision
  • Reliable transportation
  • Organizational Skills
  • Demonstrate good housekeeping
  • Attention to detail
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in facilities maintenance is advantageous
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to operate and maintain various hand and power tools
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and practices

This position requires a proactive individual who can maintain a safe and efficient working environment through hands-on maintenance and repair work.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical certification or training in maintenance or a related field
  • Chemical handling experience in a production environment using corrosive and toxic materials

-Hours are 7:00am - 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday OT
