THE ORGANIZATION(S)
Founded in 1981, the Oregon Solar + Storage Industries Association (OSSIA) is the state's solar industry trade association. OSSIA's mission is to make solar energy a significant energy source in Oregon and expand the market by strengthening the industry and developing a skilled and stable workforce. Leading over 100 solar businesses throughout Oregon and the more than 4,000 individuals working within the industry, OSSIA advances policy, removes market barriers, highlights emerging trends, and promotes outreach and education.
The Oregon Solar Energy Education Fund (OSEEF) is the 501c3 sibling organization of OSSIA. OSEEF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to supporting solar education and regulatory reform in Oregon. By partnering with solar companies, workforce development organizations, current and future solar workers, solar regulators, and forward-looking policymakers we're breaking down barriers to expanding solar energy as a vital part of a clean and renewable energy mix.
OSSIA/OSEEF are small but mighty organizations. Staff and volunteer Boards of Directors support each other and work collaboratively to advance our goals. We celebrate our successes and navigate our challenges together.
OSSIA & OSEEF are serious about equity!
OSSIA & OSEEF are committed to making equity a reality in the solar industry. OSSIA and OSEEF staff and board created an equity-informed Strategic Plan and are working on implementation, making it a great time to impact our future. The only way to achieve our vision to provide universal access to solar energy is by being equitable and inclusive of all races, classes, nationalities, abilities, genders, romantic partner choices, and other communities pushed to the margins by institutions.
THE POSITION
The solar industry provides good paying jobs and needs skilled workers, but is 90% white and 80% male; OSSIA seeks to redirect this trajectory through our work. OSSIA is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Program Director with strong relationship building skills who has connections and experience working with women, LGBTQIA+, and communities of color. The core of the position is to lead and manage workforce development programs and projects in order to expand the solar workforce in an equitable way that builds value for communities and the industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
OSSIA/OSEEF seeks a well-rounded Program Director with a track record of managing programs, experience supervising staff, a high level of organization, and the ability to balance competing priorities and work independently. A successful candidate will have a passion for equity and experience working with communities of color and/or other historically disadvantaged communities.
Desired additional qualifications:
COMPENSATION
Salary range is $65,000-$75,000/year for the full-time position
Health care and vision benefits
Retirement benefits
Three weeks of vacation in the first year, increasing to four weeks of vacation in the fifth year
11 holidays, plus 5 holiday adders, which make a holiday weekend a four-day weekend

All work-related travel expenses are reimbursed.
To Apply: Please submit a cover letter, resumé, and references by email to ...@oseia.org with “Program Director Application” included in the subject line.
