Responsibilities

The Vice President, Chief Financial Officer for Ascension Medical Group formulates and oversees the organization's financial planning, policies and practices in collaboration with ministry-wide finance and Ascension executive leadership.

Responsibilities:

1. Serves as a member of the executive team and provides leadership in formulating and implementing strategic initiatives. Recommends strategies designed to achieve financial, strategic, operational, and system-wide objectives and goals.
2. Plans and coordinates financial resources. Serves as liaison on financial matters among executive leadership, and management.
3. Monitors financial performance, conducts organization-wide performance improvement activities, and maintains financial plans and forecasts. Ensures that financial needs are met and that budgets and projections are completed timely and accurately.
4. Recommends strategies based on financial, accounting and industry trends.
5. Directs the organization's accounting, statistical reporting, budget, tax, and audit controls, standards, and activities.
6. Collaborates with the ministry-wide finance team to coordinate major projects and system initiatives. Implements processes to ensure the timely completion of all financial activity requirements for system office and the Board of Directors.

Requirements

Education:

1. Bachelor's degree with 10 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 5 of those years being in leadership/management.

Work Experience:

1. 10 years of experience required.
2. 15 years of experience preferred.
3. 5 years of leadership or management experience preferred.

Additional Preferences

1. Master's degree preferred.
