Job Title: CMM Operator

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced CMM Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming and operating CMMs, performing quality control inspections, maintaining and calibrating equipment, supporting product development, and documenting and reporting inspection results. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities

  • Program and operate CMMs (OGP) using Zone 3 software, developing and optimizing programs for complex geometries and tight tolerances.
  • Perform routine and non-routine dimensional inspections of manufactured components to ensure accuracy and repeatability.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), to perform first article, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Analyze measurement data, generate detailed inspection reports, and identify non-conformances and deviations from specifications.
  • Apply statistical process control (SPC) techniques to monitor process capability.
  • Perform scheduled calibrations of metrology equipment, troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues, and maintain accurate maintenance and calibration records.
  • Assist in the development, measurement, and qualification of new products, providing dimensional feedback to engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Perform capability studies and gage repeatability and reproducibility (GR&R) studies.
  • Maintain accurate and organized inspection records, generate and present inspection reports, and document CMM programs and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in programming and operating CMMs (e.g., OGP, Zeiss, Mitutoyo) using software such as Zone3, PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5), blueprint reading, and dimensional metrology.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a CMM Technician in a manufacturing environment, preferably with high-volume production of small, precision components.
  • Associate's degree in a technical field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology) or equivalent experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC) techniques.
  • Experience performing capability studies and gage repeatability and reproducibility (GR&R) studies.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $38.00/hr.
