Microsoft Silicon Cloud Hardware Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) is the team behind Microsoft's expanding Cloud Infrastructure and responsible for powering Microsoft's "Intelligent Cloud" mission. SCHIE delivers the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform globally with our server and data center infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability solutions. As Microsoft's cloud business continues to grow the ability to deploy new offerings and HW infrastructure on time, in high volume with high quality and lowest cost is of paramount importance. To achieve this goal, the Cloud Hardware Manufacturing Engineering (CHME) team is instrumental in defining and delivering operational measures of success for hardware manufacturing, improving the planning process, quality, delivery, scale and sustainability related to Microsoft cloud hardware. We are looking for engineers with a passion for customer focused solutions, insight and industry knowledge to envision and implement future technical solutions that will manage and optimize the Cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

1. Lead and manage a global team of HPC professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions, roadmap execution, and robust support.
2. Develop and implement strategic plans for HPC services, encompassing design, implementation, maintenance, and adaptation processes.
3. Conduct regular evaluations of HPC infrastructure technologies and software solutions to maximize engineering productivity and efficiency.
4. Continuously focus on technology improvement, optimization, and process enhancement to increase overall effectiveness.
5. Consult and collaborate with Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Design teams to develop custom solutions, enhance existing capabilities, and drive operational excellence.
6. Utilize advanced problem-solving skills to proactively identify and resolve HPC issues, ensuring minimal impact on business productivity.
7. Promote a culture of innovation and creativity, fostering the development of a high-performance HPC team.
8. Integrate the latest GenAI solutions into silicon development flows to enhance design and verification processes.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 4+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, or systems engineering.
2. OR equivalent experience.
3. 4+ years of experience in a leadership role within the High-Performance Computing (HPC) domain.
4. 4+ years of hands-on experience supporting infrastructure and software solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Extensive experience with HPC services management and enterprise application integration.
2. Deep understanding of High-Performance Computing (HPC) Infrastructure and services critical to EDA tool simulation.
3. Experience with one or more programming or query languages (Powershell, C#, Python, Java, JavaScript, Kusto, SQL).
4. Certification in one or more of the following technologies: Microsoft Azure Solution Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator, Google Professional Cloud Architect, Google Associate Cloud Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, AWS Certified Solutions Architecture Associate, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate.
5. Team player, strong collaboration skills, and positive attitude.
6. Problem-solving skills and a collaborative attitude.
7. Communication skills with a proven ability to present complex technical information to leadership.

Service Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
