The purpose of this position is to provide accounting support to the Facilities & Planning department as well as the Campus Accounting department, which provides support to the campus community.
The Accounting Technician creates, reviews, and verifies accounts payable, accounts receivable, and purchasing transactions for accuracy in multiple accounting and database systems. On a daily basis, they interact with vendors, customers, and staff members to resolve issues associated with billing or payment, including invoices and statements. The Accounting Technician will also provide administrative support to the University Pcard Program. A successful candidate has a strong sense of initiative, is proficient with common accounting platforms and Excel, communicates clearly and directly, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
- 12 quarter hours (8 semester hours) of Accounting courses AND
- An Associates Degree in Accounting; OR
- One year of experience that includes entering, compiling, and/or reporting financial information; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with PSU systems, including Banner and OnBase.
Experience with cost accounting software such as AiM.

Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
The starting hourly rate for this position will be between $18.16 and $20.55. The starting salary may be negotiable above this range, however it will be dependent upon the knowledge, experience, skills, and abilities of the chosen candidate, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
