Position Overview

Under the direction of the City Council, the City Manager serves as the chief administrative officer, overseeing all city operations, implementing policies, and leading city departments. The role requires a dynamic leader with strong management skills, experience in local government, and the ability to foster community relations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public administration, planning, political science, or related field.
• At least three years of upper-level local government management experience; a master's degree and five years of experience are preferred.
• Experience in economic development, public safety, and intergovernmental relations is highly desirable.

The City of Troutdale operates under a Council-Manager government with a mayor and six councilors. The city employs 66 full-time staff and has a budget of approximately $74 million for 2024-2025.
