What You Need To Know

As the District Manager for Blood Collections in the Greater Portland Area, you will oversee collection teams to ensure the achievement of collection goals, business initiatives, and quality metrics. In this role, you will use your biomedical knowledge, logistics/supply chain experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage union relations to lead our Portland teams. You will enforce organizational policies, drive production, and embrace cultural initiatives. As a change agent, you will lead teams through transformation, fostering future leadership and collaboration. Your operational mindset and communication skills will be key to driving success and efficiency.

Provide support, development, and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers.

Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and monitor assigned collections budget to ensure sufficient capacity and effective utilization of resources.
  • Manage mobile operations and oversee multiple technologies, coordinating with departments to meet collection goals and quality metrics efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Monitor and improve donor flow and customer service, collaborating with Donor Recruitment to enhance the donor experience.
  • Manage, coach, and mentor supervisors and staff, including performance evaluations and disciplinary actions, to ensure operational success and minimize turnover.
  • Ensure proper staffing, coordinate training, and ensure collections meet patient needs and demand requirements.
  • Operate ARC vehicles as required, including setup and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain effective communication across all department levels and functions.
  • Participate in divisional and national projects.
  • Travel up to 60% within the region.

Pay Information

The salary range for this position is $95,000-$105,000.

This is an on-site position based in Portland, requiring travel within the Greater Portland Metro area, including coastal communities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 5 years of related biomedical experience or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of management experience with strong leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance, group dynamics, negotiation, and project management preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Preferred Skills

  • Change management experience.
  • Supply chain and logistics experience.
  • Union relations management experience.
  • Over 5 years of leadership in blood banking/blood products industry.
