Senior Surveyor - Civil

SUMMARY

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Senior Surveyor responsible for coordinating and supervising project-based survey and layout requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Oversee project survey operations in construction survey.
2. Interface with contractors and trades to ensure work accuracy relative to design intent.
3. Manage quality control of self-performed and subcontracted work.
4. Build strong cross-cultural relationships and resolve conflicts appropriately.
5. Provide proactive leadership in developing the safety culture on the project site.
6. Foster teamwork and promote diversity.
7. Liaise between field engineers and contractors to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
8. Promote the Zero Injury Safety Program.
9. Coordinate with registered surveyor company for project start-up.
10. Attend and participate in project meetings as required.
11. Maintain relationships with customers, engineers, union representatives, and subcontractors.
12. Portray a positive attitude and demonstrate professional customer service skills.
13. Ensure teams have the resources and support to provide superior service.
14. Foster a project team culture of superior service to the customer.
15. Lead business operations and project leadership consistent with Mortenson values.
16. Model and exemplify the code of ethics.
17. Ensure business operations align with Mortenson's values.
18. Promote a respectful environment for all team members.
19. Lead and promote a healthy work/life balance.
20. Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Associate or bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience as a surveyor within the construction industry.
2. Minimum of five years of previous survey experience.
3. Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) License preferred.
4. Driver's license required.
5. Proficiency in Bentley Inroads, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, or equivalent survey software.
6. Ability to operate equipment including total station, GPS, data collector, etc.
7. Travel required.

The base pay range is $85,000 - $114,800, with higher ranges for specific locations. Base pay is based on experience and skills and is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.

• Postings are typically open a minimum of 5 days, averaging 44 days.
