Temporary Maintenance Director – Skilled Nursing Facility (Tigard, OR)

Schedule: Day Shift - Temporary thru Mid May

Pay: $30/hour

We are seeking a Temporary Maintenance Director to oversee the maintenance and safety operations at our skilled nursing facility in Tigard, OR. This role is responsible for ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Key duties include performing routine maintenance, coordinating repairs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing facility systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and electrical. The ideal candidate has experience in building maintenance, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining a high standard of safety and functionality.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc., such as cutting, trimming, sweeping, and cleaning.
• This position also oversees Housekeeping & Laundry personnel.
• Perform maintenance tasks including plumbing, plastering, electrical work, carpentry, and mechanical repairs.
• Replace bulbs, clean windows, and assist others in lifting heavy equipment and supplies.
• Service heating and cooling units/systems.
• Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing staff when performing routine assignments in living areas.
• Ensure that the facility and its equipment are properly maintained for comfort and convenience.
• Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of maintenance supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of maintenance practices, procedures, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Experience in maintenance of buildings such as nursing homes, apartment complexes, or business facilities.
• Ability to minimize waste of supplies and misuse of equipment.
• Maintain confidentiality of all care information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
