Job Title: Environmental Planner 2 (Fall 2025 Start!)

Job Description: Under direct supervision, gathers, compiles and analyzes land use, economic forecasting, population growth, and other related data to create basic to moderate complexity modeling and forecasting for Water Resources, Air Quality, Environmental Impact studies and plans. Reviews existing models and recommends improvements/changes as necessary. Performs field investigations, surveys, studies or other research in order to compile and analyze data on environmental impacts of prospective land use. Contributes to firm's TKM by assisting in the development of white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc. Performs other duties as required. May create or work with a team to create a poster or other presentation material for a conference.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Urban, Community or Regional Planning or related discipline. 1 year of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Skills and Abilities: Basic knowledge of principles and methods for large scale land use including the relative costs and benefits. Basic knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process. Basic knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services. Good written and oral communication skills.
