Job Description

Peterson Cat is seeking an experienced Earthmoving Technical Trainer for our Hillsboro, OR, and San Leandro, CA locations.

Summary

The Technical Trainer develops comprehensive technical training programs to enhance the knowledge, skills, and performance of technical employees, benefiting Peterson and its customers. The Trainer analyzes needs, researches, develops, organizes, implements, and conducts training sessions. The Technical Trainer fosters a continuous learning environment.

Essential Job Functions

  • Technical Employees Development Plans: Collaborate with Employee Development staff to plan, develop, and implement training strategies aligned with company values. Conduct needs assessments to identify training opportunities at all levels. Work with managers to define skill requirements and evaluate employees for training and career advancement.

  • Technical Curricula Development: Conduct needs analyses to identify skill gaps, develop measures to track progress, and ensure the organization has the necessary skills to meet business goals. Assist in designing and implementing performance management systems, analyze training requests, and coordinate with external vendors. Establish processes for designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs.

  • Technical Skills Training: Develop curricula and materials for technical training, including classroom instruction and online/distance learning methods covering electronics, hydraulics, powertrains, engines, emissions, etc.

  • Peterson University Marketing: Collaborate with the Marketing Department to promote Peterson University's training services to customers and dealers.

  • Operate company or personal vehicle as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited college and at least three years of relevant experience in employee training and development, preferably in a heavy industrial environment. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Maintain a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.

The California pay range for this position is $102,000 - $125,000. Starting salary depends on experience and education. We offer a comprehensive compensation package in addition to base salary.
