Hazen and Sawyer is seeking candidates for a full-time Mid-Level Principal Structural Engineer.
Responsibilities: The engineer will work on design and construction administration for water and wastewater treatment projects. Responsibilities include producing design calculations, technical reports, permitting, detailed design and engineering plans, and specifications for Water / Wastewater projects such as plant upgrades, storage facilities, pipelines, stormwater systems, pump stations, and distribution/collection systems. The role also involves participating in construction administration services, including submittal review, responding to RFI's, and clarifications during construction.
Qualifications: Candidates must be effective communicators capable of working successfully in a multi-discipline team environment. Experience in the design and construction of structural steel, reinforced concrete, reinforced masonry, and aluminum structures is required, along with knowledge of applicable building codes, design standards (including ACI and AISC), and structural analysis and design software. Strong structural analysis and design skills are essential.
Additional Experience: Experience with water and wastewater systems, including designing, preparing, reviewing, and approving project drawings and specifications for water or wastewater projects, is preferred.
Minimum Requirements: Candidates should have between 3 to 5 years of relevant experience and hold a BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural Concentration from an ABET-accredited institution. Passing the PE exam is also required.
