Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette (PPCW) is recruiting for a Chief Development Officer to join our Executive Leadership team!
About the Role
The Chief Development Officer (CDO) provides strategic leadership and direction for all fundraising and philanthropic engagement activities across the entire affiliate of PPCW, including individual giving, planned giving, campaigns, institutional giving, political giving (via Planned Parenthood Action Oregon), and special events. The CDO serves as a key member of the Organizational Leadership Team and works closely with the President and CEO to grow high-level donor relationships, expand revenue streams, and align fundraising strategies with organizational goals.
Schedule Expectations
This is a full-time position, (40 hours/week).

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years' experience as a CDO or similar leadership role in development, working strategically with the CEO, Board, and senior management.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Proven ability to cultivate, solicit, and close six-figure gifts.
- At least 5 years' experience managing a team of 5 or more.
- Experience designing and leading development campaigns.
- Excellent cross-cultural communication skills and cultural responsiveness.
- Strong commitment to PPCW's mission, values, and reproductive rights.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and travel as needed.
- Understanding of racial equity and experience working with marginalized communities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters in Non-Profit Administration, Philanthropic Studies, or related fields preferred.
- Familiarity with the philanthropic community in PPCW's region is highly preferred.
Total Rewards
The salary range is $187,200 to $227,200 annually, based on experience. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, holidays, and more.

- Operate office equipment and travel as needed.
- Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Location
Hybrid/telework, based in Oregon or Washington, at the Flanagan Regional Service Center in NE Portland, OR.
Essential Functions
Strategic Planning & Leadership
- Develop and execute fundraising strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Partner with the CEO and Board to increase philanthropic revenue.
- Create multi-year fundraising plans and campaigns.
- Integrate development strategies with programmatic and advocacy efforts.
Business Development & Partnerships
- Foster a culture of philanthropy and build strategic partnerships.
- Represent PPCW externally at events and conferences.
- Manage a portfolio of major donors and support the CEO's donor engagement.
Team Leadership
- Manage the development team's budget and performance.
- Monitor progress against goals with data analysis and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Support team development and create a positive work environment.
Innovation & Growth
- Identify emerging trends and diversify revenue streams.
- Lead digital fundraising initiatives and pilot innovative donor engagement strategies.
- Advise leadership on market conditions and fundraising innovations.
