Starting Pay $19.00/hr DOE

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Med Tech you will administer prescribed medication and treatments to our wonderful residents. If you are a skilled Med Tech and believe in serving with love, respect, and integrity, Hearthstone may be the perfect place for you!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Administration of prescribed medication and treatments. May be Delegated to perform blood sugar testing and insulin injections.
• Manage the storage of medications according to policies and procedures.
• Transcribe physician orders completely and accurately.
• Make and receive phone calls to physician offices and pharmacy for information and clarification.
• Observe and report changes in resident's physical or behavioral conditions to Nurse or RCC and complete documentation on actions.
• Take and record vital signs, as directed.
• Acting Person in Charge in managements absence.
• Knowledgeable in use of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in Medication Room and Chart Room.
• Report needs for health care supplies to RCC.
• Must be able to think, act and intervene independently in both routine and emergency situations.
• Will be the point-person in charge, responding to fire alarms as described in policy and procedures.
• Work collaboratively with clinical team.
• Demonstrates an appreciation of the heritage, values, and wisdom of the residents and an understanding of the aging process.
• Must be able to work flexible hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENT

MED TECH QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school graduate or GED
• Previous Med Tech experience required
• Minimum age 18
• Excellent leadership skills
• Computer skills and EMAR experience
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
• Current CPR and First Aid

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to stand /walk up to eight hours per day
• Must be able to lift/push up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to lift, stand, bend, squat, crawl, reach, and kneel using good body mechanics for sustained periods of time.
• Must possess sight/hearing, or use prosthetics, that is adequate that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
