Position Summary
This is a temporary position currently funded through October 21, 2025.
Under the direct supervision of food service management, the Lead Food Service Associate performs basic food service functions, including preparation/serving of food items, stocking of supplies, cashiering and catering special events. Prepares deposits and transfers of cash and checks to the central vault or bank. Work situations are routine and regularly recurring, requiring an ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations and understand commonly used procedures and work methods. Communication skills are employed to interact with supervisors, co-workers, student trainees and the public. Responsible for maintaining County/State/Federal health codes, customer satisfaction and accurate work results that are noticeable by the customer (i.e., food quality, wholesomeness, presentation, merchandising, portion control and maintenance of departmental food standards). Monitors the work of Food Service Associates, Casuals, and student staff.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM, with occasional later shifts (for example, once per month, there is a board dinner that requires staying until 7:00 PM).
This position has a focus on catering.

Minimum Qualifications
To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).
High school diploma or equivalent and minimum two (2) years of food service and cashiering experience required. Must have the ability to obtain a food handler's card. Must be able to effectively communicate in oral and written form.

Starting Salary Expectations
The first two steps of the range are: $38,006 to $39,146 per year. Higher salary placement may be available based on qualifications, experience and internal equity.
