How you'll make an impact

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand customer challenges.
  • Design, test, and implement complex data products, systems, and pipelines with high-quality solutions.
  • Use data to measure, inspect, and inform decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD automation with tools like GitHub Actions.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform for cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Apply software development best practices, including TDD, BDD, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
  • Support live data systems with proactive monitoring, ensuring high data quality and rapid incident response.
  • Analyze systems independently to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
  • Mentor peers and foster continuous learning within the team.
  • Attract top talent, participate in interviews, and provide feedback.
  • Model best practices, understand customer problems, and ensure solutions are effective and sustainable.
  • Lead complex tasks and guide peers on technical discussions.
  • Own large components or systems, ensuring high quality and performance.
  • Participate in and lead technical discussions and reviews.
  • Design and build reliable, scalable, and efficient big data platforms and tools.
  • Develop data models and structures using data modeling techniques.
  • Become a subject matter expert and apply creative problem-solving techniques.
  • Leverage data and AI technologies to enhance productivity and solutions.
  • Lead initiatives, make strategic decisions, and ensure team accountability through OKRs.
  • Engage with senior management on plans and complex issues.

Experience you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Master's or PhD preferred, with 5+ years (Master's) or 7+ years (PhD) in software engineering, especially in data systems.
  • Deep technical expertise, innovation, and leadership skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Self-motivated with a passion for learning and adopting new technologies, including GenAI tools.
  • Extensive experience designing simple, high-quality, efficient solutions for complex problems.
  • Strong CI/CD and agile development experience.
  • Proficiency in languages like Java, C#, Golang, Python, with skills in coding, testing, and monitoring.
  • Experience with data processing, pipelines, SQL, and databases.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
  • Understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and data governance is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience building Data Lakes, Lakehouse architectures, and Data Warehouses.
  • Proven ability in data pipeline development, SQL, and database management for scalable, efficient data flow.
  • Expertise in data modeling for cloud-based Data Lakes, Lakehouses, and Warehouses.
