About the Oregon Hazelnut Industry Office
This unified office represents four vital components of the hazelnut industry:
* Hazelnut Marketing Board (HMB) Oversees quality standards, statistics, and promotion under Federal Marketing Order 982.
* Oregon Hazelnut Commission (OHC) Funds and facilitates research to support hazelnut production.
* Nut Growers Society (NGS) Serves as the industry s trade association, focused on communication and grower engagement.
* Associated Oregon Hazelnut Industries (AOHI) Drives state and national regulatory and policy efforts.

What You ll Be Responsible For:
* Oversee daily operations and provide strategic leadership across all four organizations.
* Manage and develop a collaborative, efficient team (currently 3 staff members).
* Coordinate budgeting, financial management, compliance, and reporting across state, federal, and IRS requirements.
* Act as the primary liaison with over 1,000 growers, 15 processors, board members, state and federal agencies, and industry partners.
* Lead communications, public relations, and grower engagement efforts.
* Organize meetings, events, conferences, and trade shows.
* Work closely with lobbyists and regulatory agencies on issues impacting the hazelnut industry.
* Guide grant applications and compliance for research and marketing initiatives.
What We re Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
* Leadership experience managing a team and organizational or association operations.
* Background in agriculture or agricultural industries.
* Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience in business, marketing, public administration, or related field.
* Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
* Budgeting, compliance, and financial management experience.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks; WordPress and digital marketing knowledge a plus.
* Professional demeanor in high-stakes or opinionated environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience working with volunteer boards and committees.
* Familiarity with agricultural industry associations or expansion-phase industries.
* Experience with grant writing and administration.
