A highly reputable and respected radiology group is looking for a Medical Billing Specialist to join their small but mighty team! The primary focus of the Medical Billing Specialist will be account follow up.

The ideal candidate will either have medical billing/ medical coding experience or have at least completed a medical billing learning program. Candidates must have a great eye for detail!

This position is 100% onsite located in Portland, OR with the possibility of moving to a hybrid schedule after 1 year of employment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review all demographic files for accuracy
• Answer incoming patient phone calls regarding account questions
• Update PHI as needed: insurance, name, guarantor, accident information, phone number, etc.
• Process credit card payments received over the phone
• Work ticklers as assigned, utilizing online resources (insurance web sites) and EPIC computer system
• Mail paper claims on a daily basis
• Process mail returns
• Photocopying
• Faxing
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 6 months of medical billing experience
• Medical insurance and EOB knowledge
• Excellent and accurate data entry skills
• Above average customer service skills specifically via telephone

Schedule:

• Hours are Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm

Pay and Benefits:

• $20/hour to start
• This is a temp-to-hire position offered by Abbott & Associates Professional Placement with their client company. Full benefits will be offered once the employee is offer a promotion to permanent status.
