Senior Construction Project Manager:

Our client is seeking a Senior Construction Project Manager to lead infrastructure-focused initiatives from concept through completion. This role requires a strategic and hands-on leader with deep experience managing construction projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with regulatory, safety, and operational standards. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with a track record of successfully delivering complex, multi-stakeholder projects on time and within budget.


This role is onsite in Portland, Oregon.


Senior Construction Project Manager Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all phases of construction project delivery, including design coordination, permitting, build execution, and close-out.
  • Prepare and submit required documentation in line with project management office (PMO) standards, including change requests and lifecycle deliverables.
  • Collaborate with internal staff and external engineering partners to meet project milestones and technical requirements.
  • Ensure all project work adheres to relevant codes, environmental laws, safety protocols, and organizational field operation procedures.
  • Manage permitting processes, inspections, and communication with regulatory authorities.
  • Coordinate document workflows such as RFIs, submittals, transmittals, and stakeholder reviews of drawings and specifications.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, material forecasts, and labor plans.
  • Track vendor and contractor performance to ensure compliance with the scope of work, schedule, and budget.
  • Monitor actual project costs, forecast spending, and mitigate budget variances as needed.
  • Identify project risks, create mitigation plans, and resolve challenges to ensure successful delivery.
  • Lead project communications, including regular updates, meetings, and presentations to senior management.
  • Foster a collaborative environment and ensure team alignment with project goals and expectations.
  • Champion process improvements and best practices to drive greater efficiency and consistency across projects.
  • Utilize internal tools to document progress, milestones, and key project data.


Senior Construction Project Manager Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of project management experience, ideally within the construction, utilities, or energy sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale, mission-critical construction projects from planning through execution.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or mechanical engineering, construction management, or a related field. PMP certification preferred.
  • Solid understanding of construction RFPs, contracts, and delivery methods such as EPC.
  • Proven skills in budget management, scheduling, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal communication abilities across all levels.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project) and ability to adapt to company-specific tools.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment with competing priorities.
