Job Summary:
The Production Manager manages and coordinates all activities in relation to production, planning, distribution, maintenance, and process engineering to ensure on-time shipment of the highest quality goods and services to SESMI's customers. The Production Manager effectively guides and drives production while providing analytical insight on growth and business development. The role works across all departments (including production, engineering, accounting, shipping and human resources) to ensure efficiency throughout the organization. This role is intricate in helping the production team by listening and understanding production capacity scheduling assignments, supporting employee training, auditing employee/team performance as well as implementing all workplace rules and policies.
Description of Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Ability to become proficient in all aspects of the semiconductor wafer manufacturing processes.
- Oversees Production, Maintenance and Distribution.
- Develops plans for efficient use of materials, machines and employees.
- Recommends budgets to management.
- Reviews production costs and product quality. Modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation.
- Suggest and implements improvements that will increase yields or reduce operating costs including equipment upgrades, staff adjustment and process changes or modifications.
- Ensure up-time and availability of all facilities and process equipment.
- Build and maintain a result based working relationships with Engineering, Maintenance, Shipping, Accounting and Human Resources all other applicable positions.
- Coordinates production, distribution, warehousing, and maintenance in accordance with company policies, principles, and procedures.
- Ensures that Total Production Maintenance (TPM) is practiced by all production personnel.
- Works with Quality Assurance personnel to assist in ISOS9000/140001 audits.
- Assists in the maintenance of the entire facility in a 5S manner.
- Accurate Data collection and entry into Excel and (GIP) system.
- Ensure conformance of all safety processes and procedures.
- Suggest Kaizen activities to help increase yields, reduce costs, or eliminate operations.
- Recommend equipment upgrades, staffing adjustments, process changes and modifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Position requires English speaking and reading skills; process documents can be read and instructions can be understood.
- High level of teamwork and cooperation.
- Position requires the ability to strictly follow safety requirements at all time.
- Requires a high level of self-initiative, desire to learn and be effective.
- Detailed oriented with the ability to listen and pay close attention.
- Ability to use manufacturing process equipment, PC and peripherals (printer, scanner), basic hand tools, cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Ability to communicate across multiple departments and levels of business from executives and engineers to production leaders and operators.
- Strong attention to detail and analytics that translate into the ability to not only present data, but also advice on process improvement based on the data.
- Ability to work in a multitasking environment and to adjust to rapidly shifting priorities.
- Strong computer knowledge especially with Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Safety first mindset where requirements will be strictly followed and promoted at all times
- BS or higher degree, with a focus in Science preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of semiconductor industry or similar technology based manufacturing, facility, complexity of operations experience.
- Minimum 5 years of second level or above management experience.
- Prior clean room experience preferred.
- Reliable and consistent attendance is required.
Physical Demands:
- Standing/walking frequently during shift.
- Sitting/working on computer frequently during shift.
- Lifting, pushing, pulling 25-50 lbs. occasionally.
- Stooping, kneeling, and crouching occasionally.
Work Environment:
- General manufacturing and clean room environment.
- Work room can be noisy with multiple pieces of machinery operating at the same time
- Working with toxic or caustic chemicals daily.
- The continuous use of factory provided uniforms and special factory shoes are required. Anyone entering a clean room is required to wear full Class 10 Cleanroom outfits, inclusive of snoods, masks, bunny suits, boots and gloves for several hours at a time
Additional Items:
- Must be flexible with scheduling. Although this is generally a set schedule, there will be business needs that dictate some shift changes and overtime.
- Use of factory provided uniforms and special factory shoes are required. Additionally, some roles will be requirement to wear full Class 10 Cleanroom outfit (inclusive of snoods, masks, bunny suits, boots and gloves) at times for this role.
