The Infection Prevention Supervisor is considered an Infection Prevention expert. The supervisor is the direct manager for infection preventionists and oversees the daily operations of the infection prevention program.
This role is accountable for implementing and ensuring compliance with policies, practices, and processes related to infection prevention at the facility, regional, division, and system levels. The supervisor collaborates with IP leadership, the IP medical director, and peers to ensure all infection preventionists adhere to current local, state, and federal guidelines, standards, and regulations.
The supervisor is responsible for overseeing infection prevention consultative services aimed at delivering high-quality care at the lowest cost to patients and the organization.
