Senior Project Manager

Description:

Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Project Manager to lead the Land Development Engineering team. This leadership role is responsible for managing department operations, project delivery, client relationships, staffing, and strategic growth initiatives. You'll play a critical role in shaping the future of private development by delivering high-impact civil engineering solutions in a collaborative and performance-driven environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee department operations, including staffing, scheduling, project budgeting, and administration
  • Lead private development projects with full accountability for scope, schedule, and profitability
  • Develop client proposals, RFP/RFQ responses, and statements of work
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and drive new business opportunities
  • Deliver a minimum of $300,000 in new business annually
  • Promote a collaborative team culture and uphold company values across all project activities
  • Support utilization goals and department billability targets (60% individual goal; company-wide targets: 62% by end of 2025 and 63% by end of 2026)
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and performance management for team members
  • Participate in project QA/QC processes and lead ongoing process improvement initiatives
  • Stay current on industry tools, codes, and technologies, including Civil3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads, and Bluebeam
  • Represent the company at industry events, associations, and client meetings


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 15+ years of relevant experience, including 10 years in a project management leadership role
  • Proven track record of delivering successful land development projects
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Civil3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads, Bluebeam, and project management tools such as MS Project
  • Oregon PE license in good standing with OSBEELS (nice to have)


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, train, mentor, and retain a high-performing project team
  • Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and professional development
  • Establish and manage high-performance standards and employee relations


Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Office and occasional fieldwork exposure
  • Moderate noise level; occasional exposure to outdoor weather
  • Ability to lift and move up to 30 lbs as needed
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and communicate effectively throughout the day
