Position Overview
The Manifold Designer is an individual contributor who is responsible for designing complex hydraulic manifolds from sales descriptions / sketches and customer requirements. They will work closely with senior engineers to select components, draft machining and assembly drawings, and interact with customers.
The salary range for this position is $70K-$95K
Key Responsibilities
Translates disparate and incomplete data, such as sales notes, sketches, and customer specifications, into functional hydraulic machine designs.
Utilizes a combination of general and specialized CAD software to thoroughly document designs via machining, fabrication, and assembly models and drawings.
Practices exceptional organization, communication, and storage of project information using multiple data management systems per department policies.
Directs and coordinates shop personnel in fabrication, assembly, and testing activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
Displays excellent communication skills, including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with customers and coworkers, including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this position will be interested in hydraulics, have good work ethics, and be willing to learn.
Associate's degree in STEM or equivalent experience in a related field
Functional understanding of fluid power and machining principles
Familiarity with Inventor, AutoCAD, Autodesk Vault, HyDraw, MDtools, and ERP systems required (HyDraw and MDtools preferred)
Read and understand hydraulic schematics
Knowledge of hydraulic cartridge valves
Strong oral and written communication skills
Must be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds
