Location: Beaverton, OregonJob Type: ContractCompensation Range: $40 - 45 per hourWe're seeking a creative and detail-oriented Footwear Color Designer to develop compelling color strategies that bring products to life through storytelling and trend insight. This role plays a key part in shaping seasonal collections and collaborating across design, development, and production teams. This role requires 4 days onsite in Beaverton, OR. Non-local candidates need not apply.Responsibilities:Create trend-relevant, narrative-driven color concepts for footwear at both product and collection levels.Execute color strategies that align with design, development, and manufacturing processes.Develop seasonal color blocking strategies that balance core business needs and creative storytelling.Collaborate with designers and design directors to build palettes and ensure cohesive color flow across categories.Review samples, troubleshoot achievability issues, and clearly communicate changes to ensure timely execution.Conduct market research to stay current on color trends across fashion, art, design, and sport.Support broader design teams with color expertise beyond your assigned product load, as needed.Coordinate with cross-functional partners to ensure color accuracy and product quality throughout development.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in design or equivalent experience, education, or training.3-5 years of experience in a design environment, with a focus on footwear color, materials, textiles, or color trends.Demonstrated ability to create compelling color strategies and drive the product storytelling process.Strong understanding of color theory, material finishes, dye processes, and production feasibility.Experience managing cross-functional collaboration and color reviews through development cycles.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Keynote on a Mac platform.Understanding of the footwear product creation process (preferred).Portfolio submission required to be considered (PDF or website link).Available to work onsite Monday through Thursday, with remote work on Fridays.
