The Design Engineer II performs complex calculations, drawings and specifications related to HVAC, plumbing or other systems. What youll do: Performs more complex calculations, drawings and specifications related to HVAC, plumbing, fire protection or other systems. Performs more complex calculations for a project, such as heating/cooling loads, equipment selection and sizing, friction loss calculations, hydraulic calculations, etc. Prepares preliminary redline design layouts for estimating. Manages a single phase of a project. Provides guidance to less experienced engineers. Review applicable codes and criteria and examine field conditions as required to support design of project. What youll need to be successful: 3-4 years experience. In-depth knowledge of applicable systems design, such as fire suppression, HVAC, plumbing, etc., as well as general understanding of system operations. Ability to read mechanical and plumbing plans.
