PeaceHealth is seeking a Legal Counsel in Vancouver, Washington. This hybrid role requires the incumbent to be onsite two or fewer days a week.

Job Description

Position serves as a key advisor to PeaceHealth leadership and colleagues on the legal team. Provides legal advice and oversight on a broad range of legal, transactional, risk, and regulatory topics, with a focus on physician contracting, medical staff matters, and physician group and other acquisitions and joint ventures.

Essential Functions:

• Advises and interacts with management and senior leaders on legal and regulatory risks.
• Works effectively to integrate strategic initiatives and business operations.
• Coordinates with internal and outside legal experts on laws such as HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, Stark law, Anti-Kickback law, and False Claims Act.
• Prepares, reviews, and edits legal documents and filings.
• Conducts legal research and analysis.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• At least 3 years of experience as a practicing healthcare and business law attorney.
• Expertise in relevant state and federal healthcare regulations.
• Experience advising on physician group transactions, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
• Leadership skills and member in good standing with the Oregon or Washington State Bar.

• Ability to operate in a complex, matrixed environment.
• Strong collaborative leadership and healthcare law knowledge.

Working Conditions:

• Office environment with some onsite hospital work.
• Ability to communicate effectively and perform detailed data analysis.

The salary range is $151,000 - $226,000 annually, dependent on experience and qualifications.
