AI Engineer
Our client is seeking an AI Engineer to lead the development of next-generation autonomous AI systems. This role will focus on building intelligent agents capable of complex reasoning, decision-making, and interaction across diverse environments. The ideal candidate is passionate about pushing the boundaries of AI through innovative system architecture, prompt engineering, and machine learning technologies.

This role is fully remote.

  • Design and implement agentic systems with the ability to reason, plan, and operate independently in dynamic environments.
  • Develop and optimize AI agents that can interact with APIs, tools, databases, and external systems.
  • Construct robust communication protocols and memory systems for persistent agent behavior.
  • Create, test, and refine complex prompts to support advanced reasoning tasks and structured workflows.
  • Integrate prompting techniques such as chain-of-thought and tree-of-thought to improve agent reliability and performance.
  • Fine-tune and adapt large language models (LLMs) for specific use cases in autonomous agent behavior.
  • Build retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems and evaluation frameworks to monitor agent effectiveness.
  • Architect scalable infrastructure to support multi-agent deployments, with monitoring and safety guardrails.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to break down requirements, iterate on feedback, and deploy robust production solutions.

AI Engineer Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with large language models (e.g., GPT, Claude, Llama).
  • At least 2 years of experience building autonomous agents or agentic systems.
  • Advanced prompt engineering capabilities with proven success in complex multi-step tasks.
  • Strong background in machine learning with hands-on experience in PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Proficiency in Python and familiarity with frameworks like LangChain, AutoGPT, or CrewAI.
  • Knowledge of agent architectures including tool-using, planning, and reactive models.
  • Experience with RAG, vector databases, and reinforcement learning strategies.
  • Understanding of AI safety practices, model alignment, and ethical development.

Preferred:

  • Experience with batch and real-time data tools such as dbt, Airbyte, Segment, or Kinesis Firehose.
  • Familiarity with microservices, containers, RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
  • Proficiency in relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies and strong software development best practices.
  • Contributions to open-source AI initiatives or research in AI/ML fields.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; comfortable leading cross-functional discussions.
  • Understanding of mobile or edge-based AI systems and applications.
