Salary: DOE per year Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform blood draws using both straight and butterfly needles, ensuring patient comfort and adherence to medical standards. Labeling and centrifuging specimens accurately to prepare them for testing and analysis. Strict adherence to protocols for specimen handling, storage, and transport to ensure sample integrity and validity. Record maintenance data including decontamination processes and updating patient information as per data protection regulations. Communicate effectively with patients to explain medical procedures and address any concerns, enhancing patient experience and cooperation. Participate in ongoing training to stay current with the latest phlebotomy practices and compliance regulations. Assist in troubleshooting procedural problems and make workflow recommendations for efficiency improvement. Minimum Position Qualifications: Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of Oregon. Minimum of 6 months' experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting. High School Diploma or GED required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work flexible hours during evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts as required. Clean driving record and ability to float between multiple locations within 25 miles. Preferred Qualifications: 1-4 years of professional experience in phlebotomy or related medical fields. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Strong analytical skills to handle clinical data and interpret requisition forms. Commitment to ethical standards and patient privacy guidelines.
