DoveLewis Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital is hiring a full-time Veterinary Assistant Level 1 to join our Rehab and Pain Management team.

About This Position:

As a Rehab and Pain Management Veterinary Assistant Level 1 (VA1), you will support our pain management and rehab services. You'll work closely with pain management and rehabilitation veterinarians and technicians to assist with treatments such as therapeutic exercises, water treadmill sessions, laser therapy, and more. This role blends client interaction, animal handling, and technical tasks including setting up procedures, monitoring patient comfort, and maintaining a clean, safe environment.

Wage Range:

Overnight and weekend differential pay is available for applicable shifts.

$19.95–$22 hourly for Veterinary Assistant Level 1

Schedule:

The schedule for our Rehab and Pain Management Veterinary Assistant Level 1 is every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. This position will work 10-hour shifts.

What are we looking for in a candidate?

• A genuine love of and respect for all animals, and an appreciation of the human‑animal bond.

• Experience or education equivalent to a High School Diploma.

• At least 1 year of experience in animal care (veterinary clinic, kennel, shelter, grooming facility, or animal daycare) required for VA1 level.

• Knowledge of safe animal handling and restraint practices.

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and be on your feet for most of the shift.

• Valid Oregon driver's license preferred (for transport van use).
