Overview

We are seeking a skilled Civil Construction Estimator to develop and deliver comprehensive estimates for public works and heavy civil construction projects. This role provides leadership in all estimating efforts, ensuring alignment with company objectives and performance goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the estimating process, including soliciting bids from vendors and subcontractors, tracking progress, and reporting on multiple estimates.
• Prepare technical narratives for RFP and RFQ responses.
• Develop, refine, and communicate process improvements for estimating.
• Ensure estimates are completed on time and within assigned budgets, with timely reviews by senior management.
• Stay informed on industry trends and practices by participating in professional organizations.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum 8 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with at least 3 years in estimating.
• Strong knowledge of earthwork and concrete construction practices.
• Proficiency with unit price contracting.
• Preferred experience with HCSS Heavy Bid, Blue Beam, and Insite takeoff.
• Willingness to travel regionally as needed.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred.
