Description:

Fluidra is seeking a Manufacturing/Process Engineer to join the team in Portland, TN.

WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE

Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing process design and improvement. Supports the engineering function by analyzing designs for manufacturing and assembly. Performs cost estimating, prepares bill of materials, and plans and justifies capital equipment. Additionally, you will:

  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods.
  • Plan manufacturing and assembly processes by analyzing designs to determine the best manufacturing methods.
  • Document manufacturing processes. Create and manage manufacturing work instructions.
  • Create and modify product CAD documentation (parts, assemblies, drawings) as needed.
  • Confer with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Analyze and plan workspace requirements and workflow, designing layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Consult with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Determine, specify, and justify capital equipment needs.
  • Communicate with suppliers to determine product specifications, arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Design and perform product testing and analysis as needed.
  • Perform quality assurance functions as needed to ensure high levels of quality in manufacturing.

WHAT WE SEEK

  • 8+ years of related work experience
  • Lean experience including practical implementation and application; Black Belt Certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency with CAD platforms (SolidWorks)
  • Ability to collect and analyze data to improve throughput, cost, and quality using proven methodologies.
  • Experience with rotational molding is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email.
  • ERP experience (Oracle, Epicor) is a plus.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, preferably manufacturing or mechanical engineering.
