Sterilization Technician - Arrow Dental (Portland, Oregon)

Description:

At Arrow Dental, LLC, were passionate about helping you on your journey to be better. We are currently seeking aSterilization Technicianin our Dental Clinic located in Portland, Oregon. This position will assist in the management of thedental officeinfection control plan to meet OSHA and CDCstandards. Handles instrument cleaning, sterilization/disinfection and re-circulation. Performs dental treatment room disinfection.

Clinic hours Monday-Thursday 8:00am - 5:00pm

Arrow Dental, a Moda Health subsidiary, primarily serves Medicaid patients. This is to help the community with the large population of Medicaid members that became Medicaid eligible due to the Affordable Care Act.

Pay Ranges: $17.34 to $21.41 per hour (depending on experience)

Required Skills:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent; or one to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. 0- 2 years dental office experience preferred.
  3. Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced dental practice.
  4. Ability to read and comprehend, simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  5. Ability to work well under pressure work with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.


Primary Functions:

  1. Prepares treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols
  2. Sterilizes and delivers instruments to treatment areas; positions instruments for dentists access; suctions; passes instruments
  3. Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  4. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  5. Adheres to infection-control policies and protocols
  6. Ensures operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; follows manufacturers instructions; calls for repairs when necessary
  7. Maintains dental supplies inventory; places orders for supplies; verifies receipt of supplies
  8. Conserves dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed
  9. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications
  10. Contributes to team effort
  11. Other duties as assigned
