Manager, Communications & Brand Experience
The Manager of Communications & Brand Experience plays a key role in stewarding the Marie Lamfrom Charitable Foundation's (MLCF) voice, visual identity, and community presence. This position manages day-to-day communications, digital platforms, and event experiences that reflect the foundation's mission, values, and aesthetic.
This individual is a strong communicator, creative thinker, and organized project manager with a deep commitment to storytelling, collaboration, and excellence. The ideal candidate brings both strategic insight and hands‑on execution skills—comfortable drafting copy, managing vendors, planning events, and ensuring that all brand touchpoints express the warmth and integrity of MLCF.
The Manager reports to senior leadership and works closely with colleagues, consultants, and community partners to ensure a consistent and engaging brand experience across all platforms.
This position is designed as a full‑time, 18‑month role supporting new and evolving initiatives at the Foundation. We are hopeful that this role will continue beyond the initial term; however, as this is a new and project‑based position, we cannot guarantee ongoing employment after 18 months.
Primary Responsibilities
- Communications & Messaging (25%): Draft and edit executive communications; manage website content and accuracy; oversee LinkedIn strategy and engagement; collaborate with PR partners on media materials; and ensure consistent, values‑driven messaging across all platforms.
- Brand Stewardship (25%): Manage and uphold the foundation's brand identity across all platforms and materials; lead the 2026 rebrand initiative with external consultants; ensure consistency in voice, visuals, and tone; and guide brand decisions in alignment with family preferences and organizational priorities.
- Hospitality & Event Management (20%): Oversee hosting and hospitality to create an inclusive, service‑oriented environment; manage logistics and scheduling for meetings and events; lead event planning and execution from catering to guest experience; collaborate with the Office Coordinator on all hospitality functions; and engage nonprofit partners in use of the foundation's space.
- Board & Internal Communications (15%): Prepare clear, visually consistent materials for Board meetings and internal use; collaborate on grant database content and external communication of funding decisions; and maintain branded templates and guidelines to support internal alignment and effective communication.
- Budget Management (5%): Oversee the communications and events budget by tracking expenses, managing consultant and project costs, and providing regular financial updates and projections for leadership review.
- Measurement, Reporting, & Accessibility (5%): Monitor and evaluate communications performance through analytics and feedback; prepare reports for leadership and board on brand and outreach impact; and ensure all communications, branding, and events meet accessibility and inclusion best practices.
- Other Duties & Responsibilities (5%): Participate in professional development, conferences, and staff meetings; collaborate respectfully with leadership; engage in partner stewardship activities; and contribute flexibly to the ongoing growth, structure, and vision of the foundation.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of experience in communications, marketing, or brand management, ideally within philanthropy, nonprofits, or mission‑driven organizations.
- Demonstrated expertise in website management (Squarespace proficiency required).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone and voice for executive‑level correspondence.
- Proven success in brand development and oversight of creative consultants and vendors.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with a track record of delivering complex initiatives on time.
- Event management experience, including catering, liability, signage, and marketing.
- Ability to understand and interpret Board values, take direction well, and anticipate brand preferences and priorities.
- A collaborative, resourceful, and detail‑oriented approach with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to accept or anticipate content or design feedback for draft communication and brand materials from Board, executive team.
- Mission‑driven team player, able to collaborate with colleagues and external constituents.
- English language proficiency, with additional language proficiency welcomed.

Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience shaping or overhauling the brand identity of a philanthropic or mission‑driven organization.
- Substantial experience in top‑tier hospitality, including VIP event coordination, and/or complex community convenings.
- Experience stewarding the vision or objectives of a family entity, board, or comparable stakeholder group.
- A strong personal design sensibility and fluency in visual communication, even if not a graphic designer by trade.
- Advanced competency and experience with diversity, equity, and inclusion principles, including knowledge of key frameworks, concepts, and strategies for implementation.
- Deep curiosity about the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors, with a commitment to clarity, accessibility, and human‑centered communication.
- A proactive, solution‑oriented mindset and genuine enthusiasm for connecting people and ideas through brand and experience.
- Location: Hybrid (3 days per week in Wilsonville, Oregon office)
- Compensation Range: $121,125 - $163,875
- Hours: Mon‑Fri, 8am‑5pm, with occasional evening and weekend hours required
