Senior Project Manager – Power Generation
Join HDR as a Senior Project Manager in our Power Generation team to develop, contract and implement natural gas and renewable energy projects. You will serve as Owner's Engineer and/or Advisor, leading multi‑discipline project teams while maintaining strong client relationships and delivering on schedule, quality and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain positive and proactive client relationships.
- Achieve project schedule, quality, and profitability goals.
- Serve as proposal champion/manager and assist with proposal preparation, contract review, and risk evaluation.
- Provide daily leadership to the project team and technical staff.
- Coordinate communication with the client to align expectations and deliverables; monitor quality and conformance.
- Monitor budget and schedule; develop recovery plans for potential shortfalls.
- Monitor scope of work and identify scope changes.
- Provide training and mentoring on project management and consulting issues.
- Guide design or consulting work within your area of engineering expertise.
- Report project progress to accounting and operations teams.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent project experience.
- Minimum 10 years of power‑generation project experience.
- Registered Professional Engineer.
- PMP certification.
- Experience leading simple‑cycle and combined‑cycle EPC projects as owner or owner's engineer.
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.
- Business‑development skills.
- Strong communication, leadership, planning and mentoring skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office, Adobe and related project software.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 10 years of related experience, including 5 years of project management.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, estimating, scheduling and project management software.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
