Job Description
Performance Contracting is seeking a motivated individual to join our growing employee‑owned organization as an entry‑level Associate Project Engineer for its Portland 553 operations based in Portland, Oregon.
The Associate Project Engineer role serves as a launching pad for future leaders within PCI. It is a dynamic position offering hands‑on experience in project management and estimating, setting the stage for professional growth and career advancement in an innovative environment.
This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
This position is safety‑sensitive.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct safety meetings
- Create and manage punch lists
- Support the Quality Control Measures outlined in PCI's QA/QC program
- Prepare RFIs and submittals
- Labor control on assigned projects, including setup and maintenance
- Perform quantitative takeoffs for material ordering
- Support the implementation of the job schedule
- Coordinate warranties and O&M's
- Coordinate material with purchase orders and invoicing
Basic Requirements
- Must have a bachelor's degree in construction management, construction engineering, construction science, or comparable work experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (e.g., Excel, Word, etc.)
- A clear understanding of how to read and interpret specifications and drawings
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to learn new skills by engaging in technical job functions and applying new skills as they are taught
- Strong customer service skills and relationship‑building abilities
- Critical‑thinking and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to multitask
- Motivated self‑starter with strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative
- Works well under pressure and deadlines
