WSP is currently initiating a search for a Generation Project Development Leader. This is a national role that can be based in any WSP USA office location. WSP USA has an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role in WSP's Power & Energy engineering team, fully realizing the value of the combined Power Engineers and WSP team and continuing to expand our impact across the US market. This is an operational role responsible for team engagement, business growth, and performance with market sector focus on supporting our customers through the concept and development phases of their projects specifically, Owner's Engineering and other similar consultative scopes. The responsibilities for this role encompass all types of generation inclusive of thermal and renewable infrastructure.

Bring an expanded view and integrated response to complex client challenges by leveraging our full suite of offerings across all end markets. Utilize our extended reach of technical and subject matter experts (SMEs) across the US and globally to foster new and innovative client delivery. Strategically grow and drive performance of our generation engineering market share across the U.S. working with project owners, developers, and EPC clients. Represent WSP as the "face of the company" across the US with clients, industry, and within WSP.
Serve as a leader alongside with Generation Leadership, Team Leads, other local/regional WSP leaders, and the broader P&E team to attract the best industry talent by fostering a work environment that is collaborative, values inclusion and diversity and invites broad, creative thinking crafting a more attractive place to work, grow and thrive. Emphasize employee training and development to create a unique work experience. Inspire, motivate, and promote the best of WSP to our clients and communities to ensure strong employee engagement and morale. Support programs such as Safety, Sustainability and Ethics & Compliance.
Maintain regular contact with other business lines and interested WSP parties to ensure they are aware and planning to support generation project development and concept design opportunities as they arise. Collaborate with leadership to strategically drive the business, assess, and suggest improvements for project performance, oversee overhead expenditures, and focus on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Sales, Funding, EBITDA, Staff Hiring and Retention, DSO, Utilization, Backlog, Inclusion & Diversity and Guiding Principles. Develop local growth forecast and business development strategy in collaboration with Team Leads and Leadership. Resolve conflicts and other internal/external issues that may arise in the office, amongst WSP's client base, or on projects.
The ideal candidate for this role brings a strong background in energy infrastructure ideally with expertise in generation development and engineering. Leverage WSP's broad technical experience to enhance current and new service offerings. Partner with broader WSP teams participating in strategy formation and business development. Foster the development of new and emerging innovations to remain the trusted thought leaders in our industry. Advance the strategic direction of the US business for sustained and continued growth consistent with the strategic plan. Encourage, support, and promote the technical and professional development of local WSP staff.

Compensation
Expected Salary (all locations): $175,400 - $320,900
Expected Salary (Colorado only): $175,400 - $301,200
